It's like this book was written just for me. I came away with so many "aha!" moments that have helped me better understand myself.

Andra Vomir@alexhbass purchased this for us to read after reading your post earlier this year. It massively helped me re-frame some thought processes. Two key takeaways: (1) Asking myself what the benefits are for me holding on to a particular thought form/story. (2) Giving children praise only teaches them to seek external validation and turning them inward is much more beneficial long term. Great recommendation!

Alexandre MouriecIt's only 280 characters so I could expand a lot 😉 Thank you again for recommending the book Ryan. It's such a great book that made me think a lot about myself. It was hard to think about certain aspects but it created great thinkings, and also discussions with my girlfriend about certain aspects of the book. yourstack.com@mrcalexandre/uses/the-courage-to-be-disliked

GauthamI just finished reading this book based on the recommendation. It's been a long time since I read a book this good 😻 If very hard to not go in the trap of being liked by others and making that the whole purpose of ones life.

Buck
BuckI read this book because of your recommendation and it absolutely changed my life. It's a true philosophy book with an (IMO) awful, misleading title. Honestly I could talk for hours about this book I love it so much. I highly recommend the audio book. It is very well narrated.

Ryan HooverGlad you enjoyed it too! You're right, the title is a bit deceiving but it's also what drew me in to the book at first. I've long since cared too much about what other people think of me. The tricky thing for me: likability is somewhat of a responsibility in my role at Product Hunt. The world's judgment of me, can affect the business and my team.
