Roam is a very interesting way to collaborate your notes. I use Roam as a record of recent articles/books/podcasts I have read and I love checking back on my bi-directional links as I add content.

Ryan HooverI've been meaning to give Roam Research a try. Why not save articles/books/podcasts notes to other note-taking tools like Notion? 🤔

Georgina HoyHey Ryan. I have downloaded Notion, but haven't yet worked out a system that works for me. Any tips?

Ryan HooverI'm actually not a Notion user. I should get more organized with my note-taking but I've been using TextEdit for quick, ad-hoc notes.

Georgina HoyI have used Notion a little bit and it is a great tool (in particular I like the templates). However, I think Roam is an incredibly powerful way to take notes and to make new connections. At the end of the day, it's whatever works best for you but definitely recommend giving Roam a try for a couple of days to see if you like it.

Ryan HooverI love the relational aspect of Roam, which can become more powerful with time as user's invest more into the underlying "database".

Stefan NatterHi Georgina, hi Ryan, the relational aspect of Roam is definitely interesting. But hasn't Notion something similar, the table feature? You can create tables for eg. books, authors, and quotes, and connect them (similar to relational databases). So you can filter by Authors, get all quotes from an author, etc. What's the big difference or where does Roam stand out?
